**Youth League rule update**

In recognition of the number of abandonments we have had due to the inclement weather, and the impact this has had on the opportunities for youth riders to get runs in to qualify for the championships, British Eventing is reverting to the system used last year where results in any classes at the relevant level will count towards qualification for the Leagues

We appreciate that the window to get in runs and qualify is short, and that the remaining period incorporates exams for some riders, so we hope that by opening up the opportunities to run for our youth riders, we can help to ease the pressure.

The details for each level are outlined below…

Qualification for the BE100u18 & ONu18 Youth Championships 2024

  • No change to the qualification period; it remains 1st July 2023 to 30th June 2024.
  • Riders must complete 3 events at the relevant level to qualify for the League, 2 qualification runs must be in the year of the Championships.
  • For the BE100u18 championships, we will be counting any score in a BE100, BE100open, BE100u18 class as well as any PT 100 classes.
  • For the ONu18 championships we will be counting any score in a N, ON or ONu18 class as well as PTN, Junior observational 2*S and the Junior 2*L at Belsay.
  • HC results do not count.

Counting Junior Observations 2*S are:

  • Thoresby
  • Kelsall
  • Osberton
  • Nunney

Qualification for the BE80u18 & BE90u18 Youth Championships 2024

  • No change to the qualification period; it remains 1st July 2023 to 31st July 2024.
  • Riders must complete 3 events at the relevant level to qualify for the League, 2 qualification runs must be in the year of the Championships.
  • For the BE80u18 championship we will be counting any score in a BE80 or BE80u18 class.
  • For the BE90u18 championship we will be counting any score in a BE90open, BE90 or BE90u18 class.
  • HC results do not count.
