The Aspen Cooling Osberton International Horse & Driving Trials returns this October (3rd – 6th October), for fun filled equestrian days out. Enjoy an autumnal day out with friends and family in the glorious Nottinghamshire countryside. With Olympic and equestrian stars, and a range of British farming fuelled food and drink, you won’t be disappointed.
Osberton is a set to be a star-studded event with Olympians Austin O’Connor and Caroline Powell, plus eventing superstars Piggy March and Kitty King among plenty more equestrian royalty. Giving local spectators the opportunity to see our equestrian sporting stars up close and featuring some of their younger lesser-known equine stars.
Parading in the main ring Saturday and Sunday are the magnificent shire horses and to add to the excitement Animalintex are hosting the Pony Club Showjumping which is sure to be a fun, fast and furious show! New for 2024 is the Imogen Moon Photography Arena Eventing where riders from near and far compete in a two-phase competition in the Bennington arena, all aiming to qualify for the British Eventing Arena Eventing Championships.
Once again Osberton will also be playing host to the Bennington Carriages National Carriage Driving event where leading drivers from across the country, including seven four-in-hand teams, will pit their prowess as they drive at speed through winding obstacles and take on Osberton’s new Marathon course. The course this year is situated close to the main arena, meaning spectators will be immersed into the thrilling sport like never before not to mention this makes it even more accessible to all!
Spectators will be able to witness both eventing and driving up close, with the key action closer to the audience than ever before. This is sure to be a thrilling event for everyone.
The event is dog friendly with Thornbury Animal Sanctuary hosting their fun Dog Show, along with Have-A-Go Dog Agility. The organisers, BEDE Events respectfully asking that dogs are all kept firmly on leads and with a responsible handler and offers local spectators the chance to explore this picturesque, private estate, whilst soaking up the electric atmosphere of an international equestrian event.
For the party lovers, weekend camping returns to Osberton, from just £60 for the weekend. This ticket price includes access every day to the British Polo Gin Bar and exclusive events in the evening.
Thursday night kicks off with the Jeremy Clarkson’s Hawkstone Oktoberfest- a traditional evening of fun, dancing along to a Bavarian brass band! Friday night then hosts an evening celebrating 150 affiliated BEDE Events – this evening includes a traditional pub quiz, in aid of Riders Minds, followed by an ABBA tribute band so attendees can dance the night away! If this wasn’t enough excitement, Saturday begins the celebrations for BEDE’s 21st birthday with cake, fizz and an incredible DJ set! The perfect way to spend time with friends and family alike, whilst running shoulders with the equestrian stars.
