Vicky Hind is HorseQuest Novice Master at Little Downham

A 32.5 dressage score with just 1.2 cross-country time penalties saw Vicky Hind and her own eight-year-old Irish mare Blueford Galaxy crowned HorseQuest Novice Masters champions at Little Downham.

Vicky said of her win: “I was so pleased with Blueford Galaxy today; we had a great time and the ground was really great! It was out second attempt at a Novice Masters this season, so it was really nice to come away with a win, and we’ll now look at stepping up to Intermediate later in the season.

“British Eventing have done a great job with the Novice Masters, giving us something else to aim for, and we really hope that these classes continue.”

Jess Johnson and her own Howardian Heights were runners-up with 34.7, while third went to Sara Bowe riding her own, Helen and Andrew Morson and Heidi Stewart’s Rinwood MJ who added just four faults show jumping to their 32.5 dressage for a total score of 36.5.

In addition to becoming the Little Downham Novice Master, Vicky also received a HorseQuest rug, numnah, HorseQuest riding socks and a £50 HorseQuest voucher. Jess’s prizes included a HorseQuest numnah, riding socks and a £30 HorseQuest voucher, and Sara received HorseQuest fleece gilet, riding socks and a £20 HorseQuest voucher.

The final Novice Masters competitions of the season will be at Allerton Park and South of England on 21 September.
