The organisers of The Sovereign Auction have announced today that they will have not one but two foals in the Spring Supreme Sale from the direct damline of 2023 Badminton winner Lordships Graffalo (Grafenstolz ex Rock King).
Sovereign sold an embryo that was a full sibling to Lordships Graffalo last year in one of their autumn auctions, and are delighted this year to be the only auction house in the world again to be able to offer these exceptional British championship eventing team and 2023 Badminton-winning genetics.
The foals will be offered for sale in the 28 May Sovereign Auction, which also features a foal by Contendro-1 from the mare Quality Purdey, who was second at Pau CCI5* with Chris Burton and selected for the Tokyo Olympics.
There is a black filly by Contendro-1 out of a mare by Heraldik xx – the same breeding as last year’s Kentucky CCI5* winner FischerChipmunk FRH, ridden by Michael Jung, who had a record-breaking finishing score of just 20.1.
The catalogue, which is published next week, also features an embryo from the direct dam line of The Wexford Lady, who had a Team GBR Olympic eventing call-up with Sarah Cohen and was placed at both Badminton and Burghley.
Breeders and buyers of international showjumpers will not be disappointed as there is an implanted embryo by Kannan out of the amazing Nations Cup mare Tinkabell-12 ridden by Rodrigo Pessoa. Tinkabell-12 had a phenomenal career showjumping at 1.60m level and also jumped on the Longines Global Champions Tour.
Those looking to emulate Team GBR eventers will be pleased to see two lots that are full siblings to rides purchased for 2022 Badminton winner Laura Collett and 2022 FEI European Young Rider Eventing Championship gold medallist Millie Juleff.
Steve Revell – director of The Sovereign Auction – said: “We are incredibly lucky to be able to have the opportunity to sell these exceptional descendants from the same damline as Lordships Graffalo and Pencos Crown Jewel, and for that we cannot thank their breeders enough for selecting us as their auction partner for the second year in a row.
“We expect there to be strong interest from the USA again this year and are delighted to be considered a leader in the sale of the world’s best international showjumping and eventing genetics.”
