The Howden Way Young Horse Development Days are BACK!

Applications are now open for The Howden Way Young Horse Development Days.

Applications are welcome from combinations that meet the criteria detailed below. Once applications have been reviewed, invitations will be extended to those successful as soon as possible after the closing dates.

The Young Horse Development Days will give each combination two training sessions with one focusing on the flat and the other over fences. The sessions will allow for riders to receive expert advice and guidance from coaches who are recognised as leaders in the field of developing young horses. Coaches involved on the days: Nicola Wilson, Tina Cook, Emma Winter, Kylie Roddy, and Darrell Scaife.

The Development Days will also serve to select combinations for The Howden Way Young Horse Academy. Combinations selected for the Academy will be offered a comprehensive training programme over the winter period, specifically centred on producing the young event horse with  input from leading expertise.

‘The Howden Way Young Horse Academy has been really helpful to get top class training and support throughout the year, and help to prepare for the bigger events,” says Lily Bradstock and Tout Chocolate, current YHA rider. “It’s also great to get different people’s insights and advice as we step up the levels. For me, it’s been great to get funded training as otherwise I would struggle to afford it’
