It is with great pleasure that The Howden Way announce their Talent Rider Academy cohort for 2025.
The Howden Way Talent Rider Academy supports riders aged 14 – 28 years, competing within the British Eventing framework, with top class training and education as they transition through the age groups and into senior competition. The purpose, working collaboratively with British Eventing, is to nurture and develop the next generation of talent enabling them to reach their full potential.
Justine Parker, Programme Director for The Howden Way, said “This will be our second cohort, following what has proven to be, an incredibly successful inaugural year. A number of inaugural riders have been invited back so that we can continue assisting them to the best of our ability; some of whom achieved considerable success including successful 5* performances through to medal winning results at their respective youth European championships. Joining them will be a number of new combinations, all of whom have shown great talent and commitment to the sport during the past season to achieve the eligibility criteria required for their inclusion. One of the real assets of the programme is the opportunity for riders to learn from other more senior riders on the programme along with the additional expertise provided.
I am very much looking forward to working alongside all the riders and their horses, our team of coaches and expert practitioners in addition to Darrell Scaife, Head of Youth at British Eventing so that we can continue to support, educate and help develop these young athletes.
Darrell Scaife said “I am delighted that British Eventing members can once again access a place on a progressive and educational training programme through achieving a performance-based criteria. I’m very much looking forward to working with The Howden Way to support successful combinations in training and competition.
