An enjoyable day was had by all at The Bates Saddles British Eventing Arena Eventing Championships which took place on Sunday at Northamptonshire’s Aston le Walls Eventing Centre. After a week of wet weather, riders were delighted to see the rain clouds had dispersed, and were able to compete in cloudy, but dry conditions.
Riders travelled from all over the country to compete for the four Championship titles on offer throughout the day across Bates Saddles AE80, AE90 and AE100 levels. The event involved riding a course of show jumps followed immediately by completing a cross country course, and finishing with a challenging ‘joker fence’ as the last fence, at a height 10cm higher.
