British Eventing are really excited to announce the launch of our summer training camps under The Howden Way Training banner. The camps will not only be great fun to attend but also allow riders to hone their skills in a fun community-based environment.
Developing your skills on the flat, practicing speed training and training over both cross country fences and show jumping courses make up part of the days planned. In addition, there will be nutrition guidance from experts in their field and much, much more. Instruction will come from British Eventing certified coaches at first-class venues where you’ll not only make some great memories, but also develop your riding and gain new like-minded friends.
Carl Belson, a BE Level 3 coach, who is running the two initial camps spoke of his plans for the camps by saying: “My ethos is that first, people have to enjoy it, and then they learn, so my camps are about having fun and taking plenty away with them to work on at home. We’ll cover all aspects of eventing including flatwork, technical jumping, show jumping and cross country. We will have quizzes and fun activities in the evening as well as talks from experts such as Baileys on equine nutrition.”
One of the inaugural camps will be held at Aintree International Equestrian Centre where it is planned to give participants the unique experience of speed-training on the world-famous gallops. The camps will include two lessons each day plus additional discussions and activities.
