Stars are out at Osberton

Some of the country’s leading eventing stars are set to converge on Osberton Mill, for the Aspen Cooling Osberton International Horse & Driving Trials next month (3rd – 6th October).

Icons of the British Eventing circuit and the UK’s leading carriage drivers, including seven 4-in-hand teams, are set to compete in their respective disciplines, creating an unmissable weekend of equestrian sport.

European Championship team gold medallist, Kitty King will have her eyes on the prize in the Arena Saddles CCI2*-L with the exciting 7-year-old MBF Redhouse Evoque, and Rathbones CCI3*-L, bringing with her Liscarrow Fernhill who finished 4th in the Osberton CCI2*-L last year.

Crowd favourite and multiple 5* Champion, Piggy March will be one to watch in the CCI3*-L with Hartpury CCI4*-S winner Brookfield Innocent and 11-year-old Subtle Finesse.

Fresh from success at the Paris Olympics and Burghley is Maryland 5* winner Austin O’Connor who is sure to wow the crowd with a busy weekend with young horses in both long format competitions.

Regular visitors to Osberton will notice some key updates to the courses and layouts, with designer and Event Director, Stuart Buntine introducing a new and improved layout bringing the crowd close to the action than ever before.

After a busy day of competition the end of season party really gets going, with ‘Osberton By Night’ events that will include the Hawkstone Oktoberfest welcome party of Thursday evening.  Celebrations for BEDE’s 150th affiliated event get underway on Friday with an eventing themed quiz to raise funds for Riders Minds. To top it off, a huge celebration for BEDE Events 21st birthday will see attendees dance the night away on Saturday with DJ sets accompanied by fizz and cake!

There is fun for the whole family, including the four-legged variety with Thornberry Animal Sanctuary hosting a fantastic dog show and have-a-go agility.

In addition to world class eventing, Osberton will once host the Bennington Carriages National Carriage Driving event. Leading drivers from across the country will pit their prowess as they drive at speed through winding obstacles and take on the updated Marathon course., which brings the action closer to spectators than ever before.  To experience the thrill of Marathon Driving ensure to book your Car Pass for Sunday 6th October.

Osberton International – 3rd – 6th October, offers a countryside day out for friends and family, with lots to see and do, alongside world class equestrian action.
