The organisers of The Sovereign Auction have announced that they are to honour the breeders of the leading lots in their Spring Supreme Foal and Embryo sale on 28 May with valuable prizes.
The prizes will be awarded to the breeder of the top-priced lot of the entire auction, the breeder of the top-priced international showjumping lot and the breeder of the top-priced international eventing lot. They will take the form of stallion coverings from Burton Equestrian, the stud owned and run by Australian international rider Chris Burton and his wife Rebekah, the Gemini Stud – which has bred horses now ridden by leading competitors such Harry Meade and Holly Smith – and a voucher to the value of £1,500 from Equibreed, one of the leading equine reproduction centres in the UK specialising in ovum pick-up, ICSI (intracytoplasmic sperm injection) and embryo transfer.
Steve Revell of The Sovereign Auction said: “We are delighted to give the breeders the recognition that they truly deserve – and often don’t receive – as a result of their investment in the very best of international sports horse breeding, and additional reward for their efforts as well.”
The Sovereign Auction’s first sale of international showjumping and international eventing foals and embryos takes place online at www.sovereignauctions.com on 28 May and is run in partnership with the insurer Howden.
