Remembering Mike Bain

The team at British Eventing are sorry to hear the sad news of the passing of Mike Bain.

He was well known by riders, owners and photographers involved with British Eventing. Mike gave his time to the sport in many ways as a fence judge, cross country starter and commentator, supporting the sport across the world such as the Olympics in London, Athens and Rio.

Mike commentated at various events such as The Pony Europeans in Poland in 2011, and provided media coverage for events such as Burghley, Badminton and Bramham to name a few. He fenced judged at three World Equestrian Games in 2002, 2014 and 2016.

Mike was an outstanding volunteer and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

We have been asked to pass on the details of his funeral taking place on Monday 15th August at 1pm at St.Elphin’s Church, Warrington. This will be followed by a committal at 2pm at Walton Lea Crematorium.

Mike Bain’s family would like people, if they wish, to wear clothing that they received from events that Mike did ie: Olympics, WEG, many different Internationals.

Everyone is welcome to raise a toast to Mike at The Park Royal Hotel.

Please call Steph Freeman on 07803 254935 for more information.
