Price rises kept to a minimum for 2023

British Eventing (BE) is doing everything it can to minimise the impact of rising costs for its members heading into this coming season, and as stated in the Chair’s statement within the 2021 annual accounts the aim is to keep the cost of membership unchanged for 2023. This means that riders will continue to be able to enjoy the benefits of BE membership for as little as £80 for an Introductory Rider membership.

However, with the rate of inflation being felt across the business and in particular a dramatic increase in insurance costs, BE has no option but to apply an increase in some fees to ensure the future of the sport. The decision taken by the Board was felt to be the fairest option and it is hoped that by leaving rider membership costs unchanged for almost all, it will go some way to helping members during these difficult times.

Horse Season Tickets memberships will increase by approximately 10% in line with inflation and the Pay as You Go membership will revert to the 2022 launch price of £30 for the PAYG rider membership and £30 for the PAYG horse season ticket. Once a PAYG annual membership has been taken out there is just an additional £10 run fee on top of any entry. This membership provides a level of flexibility for competitors who may wish to explore stepping up to the next level or only compete a couple of times a year. The only other increase will be to owner and syndicate memberships which will increase by just £20 each.

Helen West, Chief Executive for BE said “BE’s new management team are working extremely hard to manage costs. There is significant focus on immediate cost control, as well as longer term planning for a brighter, more sustainable future. We hope you will renew your membership, encourage ex-members to rejoin, be part of our exceptional sport and ensure BE continues being the World Leader and a successful National Governing Body.”

BE membership gives you access to an array of events and Championships throughout the UK, protected by the highest safety standards and unparalleled veterinary and medical care. View the new 2023 calendar here and further information on our membership options here.
