Osberton International – We’re SO Excited

Why we’re SO excited about Osberton International (27th September – 1st October) and you should be too! With evening entertainment and party nights, an enhanced competition schedule, and layout changes based on competitor feedback, Osberton is the ultimate end of season event.

Running alongside the existing CCI2*L and CCI3*L will be new National Novice and Intermediate ‘trophy classes’ – an exciting new development that offers a long format competition structure, at a destination event, without the complexities of an FEI class.  Open to riders who have not started in any FEI class in the 2023 season, for Novice entrants, or those not to have started a CCI3* and above, for those intermediate entrants, in the 2023 season.

In addition, and for the first time Osberton will feature a CCI1* giving grassroots riders a taste of FEI competition. The new CCI1* will also act as the culmination of the Agria Lifetime Equine BE100 League, which is being hosted across all BEDE Events with BE100 classes. The league has aimed to give grassroots riders an additional aim for the 2023 season and create increased brand loyalty to British Eventing and BEDE Events. The CCI1* is the entry-level FEI eventing class and for Osberton will run in a dressage – cross-country – Showjumping format.

“We wanted to give an increased number of riders access to the end of season party that is Osberton. Many riders dream of riding at an international three-day event but are unable to do so due to the additional cost of an FEI event or the complexity of MERs or entries. By keeping MERs simple we can create an end of season trophy that many Novice and Intermediate riders can aim for.  Similarly with the addition of the CCI1* we hope that BE100 riders will have a new aim and can gain a taste of FEI competition” says BEDE Events Director, Stuart Buntine.

Osberton will also host a CCI2*-Ponies, a further addition to the 2023 calendar.

Competitors and their connections can also enjoy nightly entertainment, with a variety of onsite dining options, from local food producers to the BEDE Bistro. Plus, a schedule of evening entertainment that includes a welcome party, live music and a resident DJ.

The Osberton CCI2*L and CCI3*L will both act as finales for BEDE Events Arena Saddles Novice League and the Investec Intermediate League, both of which have enhanced prize funds and run across all BEDE Events.
