Osberton International – National 3DE

Following increased calls from riders the qualifying criteria for the Restricted Novice Telstar Trophy has been updated, and close of entries moved to Monday 4th September.

Osberton International’s (27th September – 1st October) new National 3DE ‘trophy classes’ – the Restricted Novice Telstar Trophy and Restricted Intermediate Foljambe Bowl, entries closing date has been amended to midday on Monday 4th September following technical issues with the entries system.  We are now aware that those trying to enter the new Restricted Intermediate have been unable to do so, and the issue is being rectified as a high priority.

In addition, and following high demand from competitors, the qualifying criteria for the Restricted Novice has been eased.

Restricted Novice – Updated Criteria

  • Riders not to have started a CCI2* or above in the 2023 season. National Intermediate and Advanced classes are excluded from this restriction.
  • MERs collected in the 2022 and 2023 season
  • 2x Novice MERs are required to compete

Restricted Intermediate Criteria

  • Riders not to have started a CCI3* or above in the 2023 season. National Advanced classes are excluded from this restriction
  • MERs collected in the 2022 and 2023 season
  • 2x Intermediate MERs are required to compete

“We’re pleased that so many riders have shown an interest in the new National 3DE trophy classes, and as such we felt it was important to work with British Eventing on updates to the qualifying criteria to enable an increased number of riders access to the class.  Due to the difficulties some have experienced with the entries system, and the update to the Novice criteria we felt it important to delay the close of entries.  FEI classes will still close on Friday 1st September at midnight as per the published schedule.  We look forward to welcoming a large number of competitors to the Osberton party this Autumn” says BEDE Events Director, Stuart Buntine.

The late fee that was due to be applicable to the National Restricted classes will be refunded following the entry being received.

The Osberton CCI2*L and CCI3*L will both act as finales for BEDE Events Arena Saddles Novice League and the Investec Intermediate League, both of which have enhanced prize funds and run across all BEDE Events.
