British Eventing is delighted to announce that the CCI2* and CCI3* that formerly ran at Rockingham Castle has been awarded, subject to FEI approval, to BEDE Events to run at Osberton for two years commencing in 2024.
Two other events, namely Little Downham and Tweseldown, were shortlisted for consideration alongside Osberton. The Fixtures Committee settled on Osberton due to its location and wanting to ensure a geographical spread of events. All three organisers put forward extremely strong proposals; after hard consideration it was the location of Osberton that was the eventual deciding factor for the Committee.
Due to the change of date of Badminton Horse Trials in 2024 from week 10 to week 11, 8th – 12th May, the fixture will be submitted for FEI approval to run on 3rd – 5th May, the week before Badminton, and has been offered on a two-year contract. We trust that the membership welcome the additional date and support the fixture which will further complement the BEDE Events portfolio which run under the direction of their founder and event director Stuart Buntine.
Rosie Williams, CEO of British Eventing said: “I would like to thank all the event organisers that expressed an interest for the impressive and strong proposals that were put forward for consideration. This clearly demonstrates the positive health of the sport as we continue to drive it forward and we are grateful for their support and backing. I would also like to thank the British Eventing Fixtures Committee who worked so diligently through the proposals which all had so little between them. Congratulations to Stuart and his team at BEDE Events on the fixture being awarded and I look forward to seeing their plans for the event come to fruition next year.”
