New member welcome – Millie

British Eventing (BE) are pleased to welcome new member Millie to the BE family.

Millie joined when she qualified for the Harry Hall One Club ACE Championships. As a Riding Club member of the Atherstone and District Riding Club she was able to use her 40% new member discount. She also recently signed up for the BE Youth Programme so that she could access the youth-specific training on offer prior to her stepping up to compete in her first BE Event.

Millie’s mother Jaynie told us: “Ballyknock Casey, aka Milo, became a member of our family at the beginning of this year.

“Millie and Milo headed to Munstead to do their first BE80 class. After the dressage, the judge asked Millie to come and see her, and complemented her on her calmness after Milo had got a little tense in his first canter.

“The weather wasn’t great for them at the start of their cross-country, but the wonderful starter held Millie back as long as he could until the rain and hail had eased slightly. After a stop at the start of the course due to the hail, Milo eventually forgot the weather and they stormed around the rest of the course to complete their first event.”

Having had such a great first experience at Munstead, Millie is now excited for her next event which is planned for Eland Lodge.
