Blindley Heath Horse Trials is excited to bring two action-packed fixtures and a fresh course design approach to the British Eventing 2025 calendar. With events scheduled in both May and August, riders and spectators alike can look forward to top-class competition, great facilities, and the signature Blindley Heath atmosphere.
Joining the team for the 2025 season is Simon Grundy, whose wealth of experience includes serving as Technical Advisor at the prestigious Badminton Grassroots Championship. Simon’s sharp eye and expertise will be particularly valuable in designing the Regional Championship course for the August event.
The May Horse Trials will play host to classes from BE80 to Novice, including GOBE, Open, and Under-18 sections, catering to a broad range of experience levels and ambitions.
In August, Blindley Heath will step up to host the British Eventing Regional Championships, offering qualified riders the chance to compete in a Championship atmosphere. The same inclusive class range – BE80 to Novice, including GOBE and Open classes – will be available, with thoughtfully designed courses.
Located just off the A22 and 10 minutes from the M25, Blindley Heath boasts a flat showground ideal for dressage and show jumping, with a rolling cross-country course featuring natural hedges and exciting new island-style combinations for improved spectator viewing.
Groundwork and footing are a top priority, with the team from Bill Kear Plant on standby in the lead-up to ensure the best possible conditions. Blindley Heath also benefits from its own Agrivator, ready to be deployed across all arenas and warm-up areas if required.
Top equestrian media providers Spidge and Equireel will be on hand to capture your event highlights in professional photos and videos. When it’s time to refuel, Luke and his crew—highly praised by the on-site medical team—will be serving up everything from bacon rolls and toasties to wraps and classic burgers.
For coffee lovers, the organiser’s personal pick is Pippa’s Pantry, known for their excellent coffee and irresistible pastries—a must-visit for riders and spectators alike.
Joint organiser Lucy Cunliffe commented: “In 2021, we thought we had retired from BE organising! After the Borde Hill Estate decided not to run events in the Park, Bill Kear found us a new site so we moved to Blindley Heath for the first BE event in August 2022. We are looking forward to hosting the Regional Championships here in August with new Course Designer Simon Grundy, TA at the Badminton Grassroots Championship, using his experience to give exciting challenges for the competitors.”
General admission tickets will be available to purchase from 9th May at just £5 per person. Children under 16 enter free when accompanied by an adult. British Eventing members can attend free by showing their membership Ecard at the gate.
