Millstreet International Horse Trials – British Round Up

British riders posted some great results to finish within the top six across the international classes at Millstreet International Horse Trials (29 May – 2 June), which included the third leg of the FEI Eventing Nations Cup series.

The Brits dominated in the CCI3*-L, filling the top four places with Sam Ecroyd taking the victory aboard Bloomfield Manuscript, Tom Grant and Tommy Cruise runners-up (31.9), and Emily King and Maserati de Landetta Z in 3rd (32,). Sam Ecroyd also finished 4th with Boleybawn Lecrae (34.4).

Sam Ecroyd continued his run of good form taking the top spot in the CCI3*-S with Chapel House on a score of 29.6, with Alfie Bradstock and Something Extra finishing 3rd (36.4).

We saw more British placings in the form of Nicky Roncoroni and Rockalong who took the runner-up spot in CCI2*-L with their finishing score of 29.4, while Rose Nesbitt and EG Michaelangelo were the highest placed British combination in the CCI4*-L, finishing 6th on a final score of 62.3. John Tilley was the highest placed and only Brit in the CCI2*-S. He finished 5th riding Grand Espoir with 33.9, and 6th aboard Rustino (35.5).

Unfortunately, a top three finish wasn’t to be for the British Nations Cup team made up of Stephen Heal, Kirsty Chabert, Katie Bleloch and Daniel Alderson who finished in 4th place. It was the home team (IRE) that claimed the victory with the USA and Australia taking 2nd and 3rd place respectively.
