With the 2025 season only a few months away, British Eventing have been working hard in the background to bring our community the best value membership we can offer. As you’ll have seen, we recently announced our new and improved fixtures list, with several new organisers and events for 2025, four additional days added to current events, and significant movement in fixture scheduling to try to tackle the impact of weather and ground quality.
Alongside the ability to compete at some of the most iconic venues in the UK while being protected by the highest safety standards and unparalleled veterinary and medical care, we’re also finalising plans for an exciting new offering – XC Plus – giving competitors more competing choices via a flexible and shorter version of the sport. Watch this space to find out more!
We are also incredibly proud to continue to provide our members with exclusive access to the brilliant British Eventing Support Trust who offer life-changing mental and physical support to competing members in times of need.
2025 MEMBERSHIP FEES
We are very aware of the impact that the cost-of-living crisis has had on our members over the last few years, and it was for this reason that we worked hard not to increase our fees. In fact, we have not increased fees to PAYG, Standard, Premier or Joint memberships, or horse registrations, since 2022.
Over this period, British Eventing have had to carry those costs, as well as the ever-increasing operational costs and overheads, ongoing inflation and rising insurance fees. Ensuring we can cover these costs is vital if we are to continue offering our members a safe and sustainable sport.
As part of our commitment to offering strong value for money to our members, we must be able to balance the books while ensuring we can continue to reinvest in the sport. Therefore, we hope you understand that for 2025, it is necessary that we increase our membership prices.
However, we are pleased that horse registration costs will remain the same, other than PAYG which is increasing to £40.
We have spent many hours analysing our sport and the value of the product we offer, comparing our sport against others. We feel strongly that even with the increases, we are still offering excellent value for money and have already put in place systems to help members manage their finances. Our Late Fees policy means that if an event is abandoned, members who commit to rerouting to a new event within three days of the abandonment, and within two weeks of the original event, will not incur a late fee.
We’ve also introduced Pay-Pal credit as a payment option to allow members to register for events over a period of time, easing cash flow concerns and providing earlier certainty for Event Organisers. The new PayPal set up will also enable members to pay for their membership and training in three interest-free instalments, thereby ensuring cost is spread across the year.

INSURANCE
British Eventing want to ensure that when you compete BE, members are fully protected.
Working closely with our Partners at Howden, it is becoming increasingly clear that whilst public liability insurance is widely available and many members have multiple public liability policies, personal accident insurance is not widely purchased, and is harder to obtain at a reasonable cost, yet crucial to ensuring our members are appropriately protected.
In our efforts to balance the rising costs of insurance with the right cover for our members, public liability cover will now be provided at BE Events only, to enable to us to add a brand new Personal Accident Cover, unique to the market, providing extensive and unrivalled cover, ensuring that there really is no safer way to compete.
The new structure means that all members will be provided with both public liability insurance and personal accident insurance at any BE Affiliated events, including any BE training event.
More details can be found here.

We have worked tirelessly to ensure that we can offer the best value offering possible to our members while ensuring we can cover our costs and continue to reinvest back into the sport we all love.
