Our hearts melted when we saw the footage of Star X, aka Mikey, with his feathers flying around Badminton Grassroots last month. As a result, we saw what it means to owners of cobs who have always dreamt of going to Badminton and fulfilling their dreams. With this in mind, we thought it’d be fun to not only showcase cobs at their best, but also motivate and inspire cob owners to start following their eventing dreams.

The eventing family welcomes all shapes, heights and breeds of horse and pony. As Mikey has proved, eventing really can and should be enjoyed by all. He has proved that natives and cob types can more than hold their own within the competition field, as well as having a passionate following of their own.

To launch #CobsCan, we’re inviting you to send us photos of your beloved eventing cobs which will be added to our #CobsCan Facebook album. Please email them along with a short biography of your cob, to marketing@britisheventing.com, ensuring your photos have the necessary permissions for us to share them.

Mikey’s owner Morven Ritchie said: “I’m so excited to see more cobs and hairies like Mikey flying around cross-country courses. It’s such a welcoming and inclusive sport, and I really encourage everyone to give it a go. So, if you see us out and about at BE events, please come and say hi – Mikey loves meeting new friends.”
