Leading international equestrian sports network Horse & Country (H&C) today announced details of extensive and exclusive multi-year partnerships with two of the world’s 5-Star three-day events; The Adelaide Equestrian Festival and The Longines Luhmühlen Horse Trials.
The Adelaide Equestrian Festival is Australia’s premier equestrian sports event. It’s the only 5-Star held in Australia, the only one held in Asia Pacific, and the only one held in a city centre, offering a truly unique viewing experience. In 2024 it runs from April 18th to April 21st and members of H&C’s streaming service, H&C+, will be able to watch exclusive coverage of all the action from all three phases with commentary from H&C favourite Spencer Sturmey.
In addition to the 5-Star, Adelaide also runs 3-Star and 4-Star events which will also be live-streamed on H&C+. Viewers will be able to enjoy the Cross Country and Showjumping from the 3-Star, and every phase of the 4-Star. There’s also more eventing from Australia to enjoy later in the year including the Melbourne International and The Sydney International.
The Longines Luhmühlen Horse Trials runs from June 13th to June 16th this year and is Germany’s premier three-day event. As with Adelaide, H&C will cover all three phases with Spencer Sturmey again providing the English commentary. German viewers can look forward to local language commentary from Dirk Alexander Lude, a well-known voice to German fans of horse sport.
There’s an additional treat from Luhmühlen with full coverage of the 4-Star event which runs in tandem with the 5-Star and is the official German Eventing Championship. Overall, there’ll be an extra edge to Luhmühlen in 2024 as it’s the final 5-Star before the Paris Olympics and the last opportunity to check out the form riders.
In addition to the 5-Stars, H&C+ members can look forward to a feast of eventing in 2024 starting with the UK season curtain raiser at Thoresby, with Aston le Walls, Burnham Market, Chatsworth, Belsay, Bramham, Hartpury, and Blenheim to follow.
Annual membership of H&C+ is only £74.99 as a one-off payment, or there’s an option to pay in 12 monthly instalments of £7.99. And non-members who wish to watch can choose H&C’s Freestyle option and buy a pass for each event for just £17.99.
Commenting for H&C, Director of Content Jonathan Rippon said, “I am delighted to announce our exclusive live coverage of these hugely prestigious events, two of only seven 5-Stars in the world. We’ve developed great relationships with both organisations over the last few years and these new multi-year partnerships are further proof of H&C’s position as the Home of Eventing.”
For Adelaide, Festival Director Kirsty Withers said, “One of our festival’s unique strengths lies in the challenge of hosting three disciplines in the heart of a major city. The breathtaking parklands surrounding the Adelaide CBD provide an unparalleled backdrop, making this event truly one-of-a-kind. We feel blessed to have access to such a remarkable venue and take immense pride in presenting it to a global audience via Horse & Country for all equine enthusiasts to enjoy.”
For Luhmühlen, Event Organiser Julia Otto said, “We are delighted to continue working with Horse & Country as our streaming partner. This partnership is already well established and very familiar to eventing fans around the world. It is of huge benefit to the Longines Luhmühlen Horse Trials that Horse & Country will stream the sport coverage internationally, as this is key to both our sponsorship partners and fans, especially if they aren’t able to attend in person.”
