In an exciting start to the season at Thoresby, we saw impressive performances from young riders in the 2* and 3* classes.
Araminta Spencer-Churchill & Neds Legacy
The highest-placed Junior combination in the 2*, Araminta Spencer-Churchill finished in a fantastic 9th place! Araminta was riding her own 12-year-old mare Neds Legacy by Lougherne Quick Step out of Arans Girl.
Araminta said: “I was really pleased with how the weekend went. Neds Legacy felt fantastic throughout the event. She loves the atmosphere at Internationals and really tries that little bit extra for me especially in the showjumping where the crowd was great. This is her second season competing at this level and it was a great way to kick off the season. I’m excited to keep building on this. Our plan is to run her at Kelsall and Osberton before heading to Belsay for the Junior 2*L.”
Jasmine Underwood & Danos Lola
Jasmine Underwood was the highest-placed Young Rider in the 3*, finishing an impressive 5th place! Jasmine was riding her own nine-year-old mDanos Lola by Carrera VDL out of Abigail Cruise.
Jasmine commented: “Lola is a nine-year-old ISH who we bought from Ireland in May. I was thrilled with her performance at Thoresby. She is such a fantastic jumper, but I was most pleased with her first sub 30 dressage score at international level. This season I plan on competing her in the Young Rider National Championships at Bicton, and would also like to aim her at the 8/9yo class at Blenheim. Long term I think she is a very exciting horse for the future with a lot of potential, and I can’t wait to see where she goes!”
