British Eventing is delighted to announce Bates Saddles as the title sponsor of its Arena Eventing Championships for the second year.

Since 1934, Bates Saddles have been driven by a philosophy of innovation focused on saddle performance and comfort for both horse and rider. This passion has allowed them to support combinations at all levels with state of the art saddle technology for a significant performance advantage.

Arena Eventing provides both show jumping practice and training over some of the technical elements of cross country, all on an arena surface. Competitors first complete a round of show jumps immediately followed by a cross country course, finishing over a show jump ‘joker fence’ set at 10cm higher than the rest of the course.

Open to both BE Members and non-members, the classes take place between November and March and will be available at 80cm, 90cm and 100cm levels. The top placed combinations for each class will be provided with a Qualification card, which will qualify them for the Bates Saddles Arena Eventing Championships – set to take place on 2 April 2023 at Aston le Walls Eventing Centre in Northamptonshire.

“We really enjoyed supporting the hugely successful Bates Saddles Arena Eventing Championships in 2022 and are looking forward to doing so again for 2023. Supporting the development of emerging eventing combinations through these Championships and encouraging every horse and rider to reach their potential lies at the heart of our saddle innovations and our official partnership with British Eventing,” said Bates Saddles Managing Director, Ron Bates.

Maria Haig, Head of Commercial & Marketing at British Eventing said, “We couldn’t be happier to have Bates Saddles align with the Arena Eventing Championships once again. They are superb supporters of the sport and the British Eventing Support Trust, and are our official saddle partners. Their focus on not only providing quality products specifically designed for grassroots multi-discipline riders through to discipline specific podium riders along with sharing informative educational information on correct saddle fitting and girthing makes them the perfect partner for the Championships.”
