British Eventing’s Opposition Beaten Percentage (OBP) Leagues are the perfect way to track your performance, set goals, and win cash prizes! With a £10K prize pot up for grabs, you can earn money while pushing yourself to new heights.
The OBP leagues, based on Equiratings’ innovative system, measure how competitive a combination is by tracking the number of competitors they finish ahead of in each class. The more competitors you beat, the higher your OBP score!
Each year, there’s a £10,000 prize pot divided among four league levels: Newcomers, BE80, BE90, and BE100. The Overall OBP League tracks every level of competition, with no restrictions on who can compete. In 2024, Caroline Bridge not only claimed the Overall OBP title with a 100% OBP score but also topped the BE80 league in the September/October period, earning an impressive £700.
Meet Caroline Bridge, 2024’s OBP Overall and BE80 Champion
Caroline, riding her 14-year-old Irish gelding, Trinity O Really, delivered three wins from three BE80 runs this season, finishing with an OBP score of 100%. She received £500 for winning the OBP BE80 league and £200 for topping the September/October period.
Caroline shares: “I think the leagues are a brilliant initiative and a great way to have something to aim for. Really has given me so much confidence. At 60+, I’m still as passionate as I was 20 years ago, and there’s no slowing down yet! We have the Badminton Grassroots in our sights for next season. Winning the league feels like recognition for all the hard work and consistency.”
