Upcoming grassroots event Frenchfield (1) running in mid-May, is reporting good ground conditions across all its pastures. A video report can be viewed on the Cumbria Horse Trials Facebook page and website.
Sitting at the top of undulating and sandy terrain and being adjacent to the Eden Valley, this Cumbrian fixture is heading towards its eleventh running since 2018 and has 5 class levels ranging from BE80 to Novice including a BE105 along with a full range of U18 classes and GoBE. Access couldn’t be easier; just 2 miles off the M6/A66 crossroads at Penrith.
This is an ideal first timer and educational event with a wide variety of fences, quiet dressage, and a large grass Main Arena. Frenchfield is notable for having a compact layout with striking views across The Lake District National Park making for excellent owner and spectator viewing.
Joint Organiser, Lucinda Weymouth commented: “This is a classic greenfield BE site, beautifully situated and so well managed by our landowners Grant and Anna Rowley, and we’re very fortunate to receive once again the support of AW Jenkinson Forest Products to make this event viable. Similarly, our thanks must go out to all the volunteers now signed up for the weekend.”
Entries for the event should ideally be made before April 30th.
