Visitors to Floors Castle Horse Trials can expect a weekend of fun, family attractions and first-class sport with Olympic gold medallist Oliver Townend entered with a lorry load of horses, and young talent Emily King, who has just been selected for British Equestrian’s World Class Programme, bringing stars from her and boyfriend Sam Ecroyd’s yard.
The event runs from 11-14 May. Saturday and Sunday are host to the best of the North’s grassroots riders, whilst Thursday and Friday see the international 2* and 3* classes, the intermediates and the seven-year-old young horse class. Whilst most classes are full, the senior classes are still open.
Sponsored by the Malcom Group again, the eventing classes are run on old pastureland in front the of historic castle, and are an ideal introduction to the international sport for young horses according to course designer Helen West.
