The eventing season has kicked off in spectacular fashion, with 12 events, 23 days of cross-country and a whopping 4,940 cross-country starters in March, making for a fabulous start up and down the country! We’ve been treated to glorious weather and perfect ground conditions, creating the ideal setting for exciting competition.
From thrilling performances in the opening international event of the year to the rising stars showcasing their talent in young horse classes, and our fabulous grassroots riders making their season debuts at our national events, there has been something for everyone so far this season. With so much action already unfolding, we’re all looking forward to what the rest of the season has in store!
CEO of British Eventing Rosie Williams said: “As we close out the first month of competition, we need to celebrate the great start to the season. The glorious weather has given us a brilliant start to the season, with perfect ground conditions that have allowed for some exciting action. The feedback from our members and organisers has been very positive, and it’s been heartening to see so many horses and riders performing at their best. We couldn’t have asked for a better beginning to the year, and we’re excited to see what the rest of the season holds. We already have really strong entries for this time of the year; Larkhill has over 750 entries and Kelsall Hill over 580!”
