With the 2022 Bates Saddles British Eventing Arena Championships fast approaching, riders who have qualified are reminded to get their qualification cards sent to the BE office by 15 February.
Arena Eventing is the perfect pre-season competition. It provides both show jumping practice and training over some of the technical elements of cross country, all on an arena surface during the winter months. Competitors first complete a round of show jumps immediately followed by a cross country course, finishing over a show jump ‘joker fence’ set at 10cm higher than the rest of the course.
The classes take place between November and mid-February and are available at 80cm, 90cm and 100cms level. The top placed combinations for each class are provided with a Qualification card, which will qualify for them for Bates Saddles Arena Eventing Championships – set to take place on 19 February 2022 at Aston le Walls Eventing Centre in Northamptonshire.
With the new format introduced for this winter, riders have been able to qualify for the Championships at 16 fantastic venues, spread throughout the UK. Increasing the number and geographical spread of the venues has given more combinations to the opportunity to participate in this unique competition.
