NEWs

Could you be winning a share of £10k with British Eventing’s Grassroots Leagues?

All British Eventing members competing up to BE100 have the opportunity to win a bi-monthly ‘performance pay out’ of up to £300 with our new Grassroots Opposition Beaten Percentage (OBP) Leagues. If you have had a run of good results recently, it could be you!

We are currently halfway through the period for July and August, with the next pay outs due to be made at the beginning of September. View the latest standings in the leagues here.

Not yet a BE member? There is still plenty of time to join us and become eligible to compete for the pay outs for September and October. What’s more, as a new member (or if you re-join us after your membership has been lapsed for a period of more than three years) you will also be eligible to compete for the £200 Newcomer/Returner OBP League pay out.

Emily Tamblyn had been out of the sport for 10 years before she bought her horse Knockenpower Rory last spring. They started competing in BE80 classes together and recently picked up the May and June bonuses for both the BE80 OBP League and the Newcomer OBP League – receiving a mammoth pay out of £400!

The Leagues have been designed around the concept of the Opposition Beaten Percentage (OBP), the brainchild of Equiratings. The idea is to acknowledge how competitive combinations are within their class – the greater the number of fellow competitors that you finished ahead of, the better your score. Prize money is paid out every other month to the person at the top of each of the leagues, as well as the overall winners at the end of the season.

So, what are you waiting for? Get your entries in and start thinking what you might do with a share of this amazing prize pot.
