CCI3* European Cup Viewing Days

Following on from our request for riders to express their interest in the CCI3* European Cup, two viewing days have been arranged for riders who have applied to join the squad.

With more than 60 combinations coming forward to show their interest, the CCI3* European Cup is already proving to be very popular.

Designed as a stepping stone to top international level, the CCI3* European Cup Championship is an international championship specifically aimed at CCI3*-S level riders. It has been a stepping stone for many 5* riders including European and World Champion Ros Canter.

The viewing days will be an opportunity for Kylie Roddy FBHS CDQ and David Sheerin FBHS CDM to work with riders who have applied to be part of the squad for 2024/25. With over 60 horses and 40 riders who have applied to be part of the programme this is a great indication of the breadth of the upcoming talent in the UK.

The first viewing day, held on 20 and 21 May, will be hosted at Wellington Riding in Hampshire with a future Northern day planned in June. The day will consist of working with the riders 1-1 on the flat and observing some of their test riding skills, then the team test will be worked on in groups of six. Finally, the riders will work through some jumping exercises and cross-country lines to see their jumping style and technique.

With the season already underway, other combinations eligible will be tracked through results with the opportunity to join the programme at a later stage.

David Sheerin and Kylie Roddy would welcome hearing from any organisations that may wish to support the squad during this season and next. To explore the opportunities please contact David Sheerin – david.sheerin@wellington.co.uk
