Following a meeting with Sport Horse Breeding (GB), British Eventing is delighted to announce their continued support of British Breeding.
Sport Horse Breeding (GB), a membership organisation and registered charity are a leading British studbook and affiliated to the World Breeding Federation for Sport Horses (WBFSH). Encouraging the grading of stallions, mares and the registrations of foals they support British horse breeding through educational clinics through their voucher schemes awarded at shows and mare gradings.
In a bid to encourage British riders and owners to buy their next potential superstar from British breeders, World Class Performance Manager for Eventing, Dickie Waygood, has increased the allocation of places for British bred horses. This means that a third of the British allocation for The WBFSH Eventing World Breeding Championships at Le Lion d’Angers subject to them being of a suitable performance standard.
Dickie Waygood said “It is important to support our breeders and with this in mind, I intend to increase the percentage of British bred horses at the World Breeding Championships which will be reviewed on an annual basis”.
British breeding has had a meteoric rise during the past decade with British Bred horses regularly appearing on championship teams and securing medals for Great Britain. Consistently asserting it’s presence in the World rankings the SHB (GB) studbook aims to promote their registered British Bred horses extensively in order to secure international recognition and ensure Great Britain takes the recognition it deserves as a breeder of some of the best sport horses in the world.
