As BEDE Events moves into a busy Summer season of events the decision has been taken to open entries for forthcoming events at the same time. Entries will still be accepted in the order in which they are received, and will officially close 3-weeks prior to each event, unless classes fill in which case they will automatically close when full.
Entries will open for the below events on Wednesday 19th April at 1pm.
- Agria Shelford Manor (28th – 30th May) – entries close 8th May
- Berkshire College of Agriculture (10th – 11th June) – entries close 22nd May
- Catton Park (17th – 18th June) – entries close 29th May
- Brightling Park (1st – 2nd July) – entries close 12th June
Entries may close before the scheduled closing date if classes are full. In the same way as Oasby (1) and The Eventing Spring Carnival, at Thoresby Park, each event and each class will have a prescribed entry quota based on previous entry levels. Classes will be closed when they reach 90% capacity, with the remaining entries placed on, and accepted from, a waitlist. Updates on entry levels will be given at regular intervals.
Of the decision, Stuart Buntine says, “this move brings us more in line with the likes of British Dressage and British Showjumping who will have multiple events open at the same time, all with a definitive entries close date and all closing when full. We appreciate that many competitors were eager to enter our first two events of the season, which caused a lot of traffic on the British Eventing website. As much as we’d like to encourage competitors to enter promptly, we don’t foresee the need for everyone to schedule time in their diary to enter all events at 1pm on Wednesday.”
BEDE Events can also offer competitors reassurance that all events are covered by Abandonment Insurance. Oasby (1) competitors will receive their 80% refunds imminently, with Thoresby’s abandoned classes currently going through the claims process.
Registration for the new Agria BE100 League, hosted by BEDE Events, is now open. The new league, running across all BEDE BE100 classes and culminating in a CCI1* at Osberton is aimed to give grassroots riders an additional aim for the 2023 season and create increased brand loyalty to British Eventing and BEDE Events.
Joining the Agria league are two new BEDE Events leagues – The Arena Saddles Novice League, and the Investec Intermediate League. All leagues run along the same criteria with riders being required to register via the BEDE Events website, and points being awarded for completing an event, jumping clear in the Showjumping and the cross-country.
