Ever imagined yourself riding at Badminton or Bramham? Creating your own priceless memories on the same hallowed turf as so many of our sport’s greats. For BE members competing at BE80, BE90 and BE100, that dream could become a reality.
Our national championships offer grassroots riders the opportunity to compete at some of Britain’s most iconic eventing venues – Bramham Park for The NAF Five Star BE80 Championship and Badminton for The Voltaire Designs Grassroots Championships for riders competing at BE90 and BE100.
Sounds brilliant, how do I qualify?
The main path to the 2024 Championships is through our BE Regional Championships. Regional Championships give riders the opportunity to be crowned ‘Regional Champion’, alongside the chance to pick up that highly coveted ticket to ride at Bramham or Badminton.
Six Regional Championships are held across the country. The 2023 Regional Championships dates will be as follows:
- Port Eliot, Cornwall – 5-6 August
- Blindley Heath, Lingfield, Surrey – 12-13 August
- Hopetoun, West Lothian – 12-13 August
- Frickley Park, South Yorkshire – 18-20 August
- Chillington Hall, Staffordshire – 9-10 September
- Little Downham, Cambridgeshire – 30 September – 1 October
To qualify for a Regional Championship, you will need to record two double clears in your respective class during the qualifying period – for the 2023 Regional Championships, this will be from 1 June 2022 until the date that entries close for the 2023 Championship that you wish to compete at.
The top 10% of finishers from the Regional Championship sections will all receive a qualification for Bramham (BE80) or Badminton (BE90 and BE100).
How else can I qualify?
Riders can achieve direct qualification to the Championship Finals via their respective Grassroots Leagues, which can be found on the BE Stats Centre here.
In addition to the Regional Championships and Grassroots Leagues pathway, for riders competing at BE90 and BE100 there will also be opportunities to pick up a direct qualification for the National Championships. There will be two opportunities to achieve a direct qualification – the top 10% of finishers at the 3DE at Bicton Arena and the top 20% of finishers in the Scottish Championships at Blair will also qualify.
NB: Restrictions apply, please see the 2023 Rulebook for full details on eligibility for both the Regional Championships and national finals
