BE National Youth Forum – would you like to help shape the future?

Are you a British Eventing (BE) Youth Member? Would you like the opportunity to shape the future of eventing?

Well, now is your chance! BE is seeking 7 – 14 youth members, aged 12 to 21 years of age, to act as ambassadors, to foster and promote co-operation, dialogue, and a sense of community within the youth eventing community. Ambassadors will serve a minimum of a two-year term working on varying projects and with a variety of working groups within the sport.

As a youth ambassador, you will be encouraged to identify and implement ideas and initiatives alongside likeminded members. It will give you the opportunity to ensure that both yours, and the voice of the youth membership, is heard by the national governing body for the sport and key stakeholders.

About the prospective National Youth Forum, Darrell Scaife, the newly appointed BE Head of Youth said: “I’m looking forward to hearing from young riders, coaches and officials who are passionate about the sport and are keen to get involved in the development of British Eventing’s youth offering. Not only is this a great opportunity to have your opinions heard and be exposed to past and current leaders of the sport, but it will also help you on your own personal eventing journey as well as give you a platform within the national governing body.”

Rosie Williams, CEO for British Eventing said: “This is a fantastic opportunity for not only those members who wish to apply but also those that they will be representing. Creating a Youth Forum for the sport will ensure that our younger riders are heard and that we can learn from them and implement those learnings into our delivery. I am extremely excited about this step as it will go a long way to ensuring the future sustainability of our sport both in terms of success and participation. We look forward to receiving the applications of those that wish to be part of this exciting opportunity, and working alongside them as we shape the future of the sport.”
