British Eventing are delighted to announce that Aston le Walls, Northants have been appointed to run an international fixture from 7 – 9 July 2023, to replace the classes that were scheduled to be held at Barbury.
The BE Fixtures Committee has awarded the fixture to Aston Le Walls for 2023, subject to FEI approval, following a tender process. The scheduled classes at Novice, CCI3*-S and CCI4*-S levels will be run over three days of cross country from 7 to 9 July. There will also be an exciting addition of a new CCI1* class to replace this class, which was previously run at Offchurch Bury.
“We are really looking forward to seeing international competition at Aston le Walls this summer,” said BE Chief Executive, Helen West. “I would like to take this opportunity to thank Nigel Taylor and his team for their efforts in stepping up to deliver this fixture, which I am sure will provide three days of fabulous competition. There has been significant reinvestment back into the Aston site providing all-weather surfaces and guaranteed good going at a time of the year when ground conditions can be challenging. I am confident this will be well-received by the competitors.”
There is also good news for the Pony Programme, which will see Aston le Walls (1) running a CCIP2* at this fixture from 10 to 14 May. This will be one of three international classes for the Ponies in 2023, along with the British Pony Championships at CCIP2* level in June at Belsay International 1 to 4 June, and the CCI1* class at Blair Castle International from 24 to 27 August.
