Aspen Cooling Osberton International (3rd – 6th October) has long been the end of season destination event for many riders and for October 2024 BEDE Events are pleased to welcome the National Pony Championship to the schedule.
The Pony Championship will be incorporated into the Project Pony CCIP2*. Dressage will take place across Wednesday/Thursday, with cross-country on Friday and a showjumping finale on Saturday.
In a bumper schedule for Osberton, BEDE Events are looking to accommodate everyone from CCI1* to CCI3*-L, with the return of the Agria Equine Insurance National Novice 3-Day.
Agria Equine Insurance National 3DE
The National level long format class returns for a second year at Novice level. Giving competitors the opportunity to compete over a long format without the added requirements, and costs, of competing in an FEI class.
The track will have subtle difference from its CCI2*L counterpart, with a less intense track and options at some of the more challenging combinations.
In the interests of horse welfare there will be a Saturday morning horse inspection.
Entry Requirement – Novice competitors are not to have started any FEI classes in the 2024 season, with MERs taken over the 2023 and 2024 seasons. Two Novice MERs are required.
Onsite stabling is recommended, but not required, however you can enjoy all the fun in the evenings if you stay on site.

BEDE Events CCI2*-S
Relocating from South of England, for 2024 only Osberton will also host a CCI2*-S, not restricted to Pony riders. This will run in a long format, with dressage followed by cross-country and finally showjumping, however it will be over a short format distance. The addition gives Novice level horse and rider combinations a full range of classes to aim for, all with the atmosphere, bells and whistles of a destination fixture.
In line with other classes and in the interest of horse welfare there will also be a Saturday morning horse inspection.
Agria Lifetime Equine CCI1*-Intro
Returning for a second year the CCI1* offers the entry level competitors of international sport the opportunity to experience the atmosphere and excitement of a destination FEI event and will once again run in a three-day format with Wednesday/Thursday Dressage, Friday cross-country, and culminating in show jumping in the main arena on Saturday.
A final horse inspection, ahead of show jumping, will be held in the interest of horse welfare.
The CCI1* also acts as the grand finale for the Agra Lifetime Equine BE100 League.
MER – 3x BE100/BE100 Plus/BE105
Rathbones CCI3*L & Arena Saddles CCI2*L
A firm fixture on the Osberton schedule and an end of season aim for many. This year’s course will be notably different to that of the Spring Osberton and 2023 event, with new additions for both classes.
The CCI2*L acts as a grand finale for the Arena Saddles Novice League, that has been running across the country in 2024.
Event Director Stuart Buntine said: “We’re looking forward to a busy Osberton to cap off our international season. We’ve looked to offer as many riders as possible the opportunity to compete at an end of season destination event, with the continuation of the National Novice, and the addition of the CCI2*-S and the National Pony Championship. We’re once again expecting a sizable entry so do strongly encourage rider to submit their entries by ballot date to avoid disappointment.”
Entries are now OPEN for all classes with ballot date set for 10th September.
