Annabel Ridgway takes the Project Pony Observation Trial title at Kelsall Hill International

This weekend at Kelsall Hill International, young riders continued to impress as part of the British Eventing Project Pony Observation Trials. Sunday’s class was hotly contested, with Annabel Ridgway taking the win aboard Galtee Kassy Cashel Girl.

Annabel and the talented 10-year-old mare, out of Kinvara Boy and Drimcong Maria, delivered a confident and stylish performance across all three phases, finishing on their dressage score of 28.5 after a bold cross-country round.

Reflecting on the win, Annabel said: “She was a superstar. The course was technical so I wasn’t sure what she would think of it, but she flew around happily. Kelsall did a great job of preparing the ground perfectly.”

She also credited her support team and the backing behind the scenes: “This wouldn’t be possible without all the support from Project Pony, who own her!”

Their next outing will be the Osberton CCIP2*S in May, as the pair continue their campaign for a strong 2025 season.

Darrell Scaife, Head of Youth at British Eventing, praised the standard of riding throughout the weekend: “What a brilliant weekend at Kelsall for our youth members with Annabel taking the win in the Project Pony Observation Trials after a win for Holly Law in the 2* and Jasmine Underwood and Finn Healy taking 2nd and 3rd in the 3*. What a fabulous generation of youth we have coming through, we can’t wait to see what they do in the future.”
