Details of the 2021 BE Annual General Meeting and Director Election.
British Eventing is served by a non-executive Board and the Directors act on a voluntary basis. There can be up to nine Board Directors, and the Chairman is appointed by the Board. Except for the Chief Executive, who is a Director by virtue of their position, Directors can be elected (up to four Directors) or appointed (up to four Directors) to serve a term of four years. They can serve a further four years in direct succession if re-elected or re-appointed. However, they must retire for two years if they have served two consecutive terms. Following this break, they can then be re-appointed or stand for election again.
As Jane’s term is coming to an end and Helen West previously elected at the AGM last year has since been appointed Chief Executive, we have two vacancies for Elected Directors on the Board. Elected Directors are voted into their positions by you, the Members.

Time: 6pm
Location: Woodland Grange, Old Milverton Lane, Leamington Spa and virtually via Zoom.
Registering for the 2021 AGM
On 22 October, all members have been emailed with details on how to register to join the 2021 AGM, if you have not received your email and would like to register, please email marketing@britisheventing.com with your membership number. Questions will be taken from members during the live session, however, if you would like to pre-submit a question ahead of time you can do this when registering for the AGM.
We will endeavor to answer as many questions during the AGM as possible and all questions will be published with an answer online following the AGM.
DIRECTOR ELECTIONS – HOW TO VOTE
- Online voting opens 1st November
- Online voting closes 23rd November
- There will be online ‘in-person’ voting during the AGM.
The result will be announced at the AGM on 24th November and the directors will be appointed to the Board from that point..
Only eligible registered members are able to vote.
